For over three generations, my family has owned our farm in Tillamook County. On top of our immense pride in producing high quality products here in the heart of Oregon’s dairy country, we’re also proud of this beautiful place we call home. That’s why we’ve always looked for ways to make our operations more environmentally sound, both by acting independently and by partnering with others in the community.

Because of our interest in environmental protection, we’ve been following the discussion among lawmakers in Salem about drafting a new “cap and trade” program. After diving into the details, it’s become crystal clear to me that our elected officials must consider the negative impacts this program could have on Oregonians – particularly to family farms like mine.
